The second
meeting of the IMPRESS consortium with the advisory board of experts and
project stakeholders (SAG) took place in Dresden, Germany the 12 of October
2015. The SAG meeting was organized by KEMEA and hosted by Fraunhofer IVI. Fifteen experts participated to the meeting
and contributed their expertise and experience concerning the operational
approach and the relative technical solution that is adopted by the consortium.
The first workshop of the project was held in Rome at the beginning of the
project and provided inputs for the elaboration of IMPRESS taxonomies and the
definition of the requirements of potential end users. During this second
meeting, the IMPRESS system design which is based on the aforementioned
contribution of the first workshop was discussed.
The participants discussed options and
challenges of developing IMPRESS, based on the structure of the US originated
ICS/EMS (developed to address management and response to large disasters) or
elaborating more the approach considered in the European courses on Medical
Response to Major Incidents (MRMI) which is fully adapted to major accidents.
Detailed
discussions and exchange of ideas with the experts focused to e-triage,
information flow among relevant services and agencies, constraints and
limitations of the emergency personnel to use electronic systems during
response.
The
conclusions of the second SAG meeting were further discussed and analyzed
during the two days plenary meeting held the 13-14/10 also in Dresden.
